Helping families become Tantrum Free!

Welcome Home Duncan

Two very excited and proud Sister and Brother!

Two very excited and proud Sister and Brother!

So the lives of O and A were recently rocked! Owen couldn’t be more excited and Alexandra hasn’t decided what to think yet.

In the months previous to the arrival of the new baby, Owen has had an overwhelming baby fascination. It doesn’t matter who or where- if there is a baby in sight Owen’s attention is immediately diverted to the baby.

Recently, previous to the baby’s arrival everything in Owens’ world seems to need an owner- the car, the house, the toys, front yards,

etc. We had a sleepover and pool party at my apartment while mom and dad were in the hospital. (more on this adventure later) While at the pool another family came along, and Owen proceeded to tell them that this was, “Tessa’s pool.” I just laughed and shook my head- it was too funny and cute. Owen is extremely friendly, knows no stranger and loves to greet everyone he crosses paths with. If given the opportunity once he knows your name he’ll firing away at the questions. He loves to engage in conversations!

Back to the baby…

So, not surprisingly he’s laid claim to the new baby as well (whom he named “baby Dutch” several months ago). Whenever he refers to the new baby- it’s “his baby”, or “MY baby brother” or “MY baby Duncan” (his given name). He loved to visit the baby in the hospital and his first question was always, “Can I hold him, Please?” Once he had him- there was no chance he was going to give him up anytime soon… It was so cute- he talked to him and told him how he was in “mommy’s belly” and how he’s the big brother, and then tells us (the adults)  how he was going to protect him and take care of him when he came home. It’s about the most precious thing you’ve ever seen.

Now at home mommy and baby are doing great. Owen LOVES to be the “baby helper” and spends hours everyday holding and watching over the baby. Alexandra likes to sneak in and take her peek now and then but isn’t quite as interested in helping with the baby as Owen.

  1. Tessa,
Thank you so very much for the wonderful treatment of our grandchildren. You are truly a splendid soul with such loving insight to their personalities that we are seeing them in a new light. Thanks again for illuminating the other facets of Owen, Alexandra, and Duncan.
